hello, weekend

Hello, Friday! Enjoy this little graphic to bring in the weekend. I celebrated it a bit early last night (perks of no Friday classes), and I think this weekend is going to be a good one.

décor amour | pb teen mirrored accents

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

I have been way into mirrored furniture and decor the past couple years. The obsession is slowly taking over my life as I acquire more and more pieces within this trend. I was looking for cute storage solutions online when I stumbled upon some cute mirrored accessories at PB Teen. I know what you're thinking: Nicole, you are 22, why are you shopping at PB Teen? How could I not when I find pieces like these:

Seeing these pieces perfectly styled with crystal perfume bottles, pearls, and coffee table books, I can hardly decide which one I might add to my collection next!

all about the dress | grammy's 2014

Monday, January 27, 2014

Alrighty, friends! The Grammy's are over, and the winners have been announced...now time for us to weigh in on the winners for Grammy fashion. It is time for the first ever "All About the Dress" link party! Check out my picks, link up (at the end of the post) so I can see yours, and join the conversation by commenting on link party posts.

My absolute favorite look is Ciara. I have been in love with Emilio Pucci designs for as long as I can remember and am so glad he is in right now. She stunning in this metallic gown, prego and all.

Being a new fan of country music, I have suddenly become interested in the country music part of the awards. I most looked forward to Taylor Swift's look, and she did not diappoint in the sleek silver Gucci number. Her simple hair, makeup, and accessories helped to ensure the ensemble did not outshine the star.

Big country winner Kacey Musgraves also stunned in a pale pink Armani Prive gown. Though I love how some stars go big and bold, this look was so light and pretty.
I was not the hugest fan of her lampshade-like performance skirt, though the gold accents across the look complemented her grammy awards quite nicely.
I was not familiar with her before, but Iggy Azalea wore such a gorgeous dress by Elle Saab. I love the damask bead work on top and cascading beads down the skirt, all in icy winter colors
Rocker's daughter, Kelly Osbourne, showed us that simplicity can speak volumes. From her sleek bob, to her long black dress, her look was so simple yet stunned as much as the sparkling frocks above.

Go bold or go home seems to be the theme of the Grammy's, but I think these artists missed the mark. Though there were other looks I was not a fan of, Katy Perry's look was a bit too literal for me, Madonna looked like a man in all the wrong ways, and Crisette Michelle, well, sometimes there are no words.

polar vortex | embrace & enjoy

Saturday, January 25, 2014

The effects of the polar vortex have hit MN again, leaving me bundled up in chunky sweaters and tall boots. While I could sit dreaming of warmer weather and palm trees, I may as well embrace the cold and snow-covered maples in my own back yard. To all of you braving the cold, embrace the moment. Don't dream of sun, sand, and pina coladas. Instead, curl up by a cozy fire, make a cup of hot cocoa, and enjoy the moment!

all about the dress | join the party on 1.27

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards are coming up Monday and I am so excited! Besides celebrating the wins, my favorite part of awards shows is the gorgeous red carpet styles. It seems I missed the first round of the awards shows, as I was not blogging during the Golden Globes. I did, however join the party with all of you as I read my fave blogger's takes on the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Golden Globes style.

Eager to engage with you all again, this time around I'm doing it right:

Until then, help spread the word! Copy the invite, or post a link to your blog to invite your blogger friends.

Looking forward to the Grammy's on Sunday, and to the party Monday!

Which artist are you most looking forward to seeing at the Grammy's this year? Who do you think will win big?

last first day

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

Today marks my last first day of school, my final semester of my undergrad. It is crazy to think how the past four years have flown by. What better way to celebrate this occasion than in pink and sparkles? I got this sparkly sweater as a gift over Christmas break, and I've barely taken it off since. A pop of pink from my earrings and belt kept me smiling all day!

And while we are getting sentimental, here is a throwback to my first time on campus. It seemed so foreign then, but now its second nature.

What look in your closet keeps you smiling?
